The Start to a Cheesy Chick Flick?

Ever since my little mishap with my phone, I have discovered a trick to be able to text. If i flip back the cover really fast around five times in a row, the screen comes up again for about ten seconds. Wooo! So, Wednesdays just happen to be super crazy busy for me class wise; and for everyone else too apparently. There were so many people out and about around campus this morning it was a bit overwhelming. For most people, they would take this as a sign to be extra careful where they were walking and pay more attention. I am not most people unfortunately. Whilst in the midst of flipping my phone to be able to reply to a text, i aimlessly wondered into the middle of an oncoming bike lane. I really need to work on not being so oblivious. Anyways, who comes to my rescue? Of course it was an older guy dressed in his military uniform. Of course. He literally swept me off my feet and set me down on the sidewalk away from the oncoming bike traffic. Thank you much Mr. Military man, I owe you!
In other news I had watched the Golden Globes and I just wanted to post a few of my favorite outfits and some of my least favorite.
She just looked so classy. I really loved the color with her skin tone. Well done!

Great texture and I always believe the bigger the better :)
And of course Megan Fox, looking amazing as normal.
I was not so crazy about Scarlett Johanson's dress however. I feel like it just washed out her already pale skin tone and was not flattering to her figure.
And just because he is so cute....

Em

Abe Lincoln Is My Downfall...

I finally hit the gym today for the first time in...a long time. It felt really good to run again! But one sandwich and one piece of delectable carrot cake later...it was like I didn't even set foot in the gym. Bummer.  So I took a shower once I got back to my dorm and as soon as I got back to my room I stepped on a penny. It sliced my foot open and caused me to jump around in my towel to avoid getting blood everywhere. Now before you jump to conclusions, let me explain. This was no ordinary penny. You see, my roommate just recently got hired to sell Cutco products and she was super excited to show me about all their amazing abilities. The first thing she showed me was the scissors which are so sharp they, "are able to cut a penny in half!" After several attempts, I was a little disappointed in the demonstration because she was not quite strong enough to get the penny to cut, and only caused little slivers of copper to protrude from the corners, which is where I come in...ouch!
Since we're talking about my feet, I would just like to brag about the most recent awesome purchase I made. So I got a little black dress (which is cute but a tad boring) and I needed something to make the outfit a weeee more colorful and that's when I found these.
I was super excited! And when paired with a hot pink clutch and lipstick, I have one killer outfit!
They should be in the mail by tomorrow! With my new phone, and my school books. It should be a great mail day!
Sincerely,
Em

Goodbye Communication

After two years my trusty cell phone finally made its last call. As I usually do, I had good ol' Celly in my lap while in the car and when I stood up it fell on the unforgiving sidewalk and both the screens turned black and after trying several different techniques, the screens were still as black as the black futon I bought on Craigslist. A very sad day in my technology life. Hopefully I will have a new one soon! So now I will survive on my Ipod which is perfectly fine with me for I love music! I'm totally music ADD though. I listen to about forty five seconds of a song before I switch it to the next one. I mean, there are just too many good songs out there to spend too much time on one song :) Currently these are my top songs that I just can't get enough of. Enjoy!

Bad Boys, Bad boys. Whatcha Gonna Do?

It was an interesting night in dorm world last night. I almost felt as if I was on an episode of COPS. So there I was, watching Spongebob in my underwear and talking to one of my good friends when there was this loud and frantic pounding on my door. Thinking it was one of my across the hall friends I took my sweet time answering the consistent knocks  only to discover that it was my RA telling me to grab my keys and evacuate. I was confused until I saw the flashy fire alarm lights going off, which was bizarre because usually those flashy lights are accompanied by an obnoxious screaming alarm. So I grabbed my keys and was off to stand in the cold along with all the few other studnets who were chilling at the dorms on a Saturday night. That's when I saw one of my guy friends with his roommate and all their friends standing suspiciously in a circle. Knowing that group, I had a feeling they knew what was going on. As the story turns out, no it was not some chick who tried cooking bacon without a pan like last time, it was a guy who got trashed and decided it would be a good idea to pull a fire extinguisher out and precede to spray it all over my guy friend's floor. Tons of police showed up and shined an annoyingly bright flashlight in my face and was making snide comments to a drunk guy. Anyhoo, we saw the cops yell and scream and some idiot driver and one cop moved a trashcan and all the sorority girls screamed... it was weird. The best part was that once we were FINALLY allowed back in a few hours past and I was on Skype when I hear the fire alarm. I grab my keys and start to head out the door when it stops. All the girls were confused and started to go back in their rooms when it went off again. Annoyed, my RA just said we should ignore it. So they preceded to test the fire alarm multiple times...gotta love the sound of a blaring alarm at 2am!

On a side note, the weather here was so nice today! I wish it were like this year around because it was so perfect. I only got to enjoy it a little bit since I was cooped up at work but still lovely. I tried to hold onto my cold weather attire though, but clad in boots, a long sleeve shirt and jeggings was a bad idea. It made me decide that I will wear shorts tomorrow and I'm very excited about shorts because it makes me think of summer. Seeing as this past summer was the best one yet, it seems fitting that I pay a tribute to the good times :) The first two pictures are photo credited to the amazing photographer, Sean Connolly!

Fascinations

Work. A little thing I do to make some money. And by "some money" I really mean less than minimum wage to clean tables, seat people, answer calls, and run around avoiding those who want to kill me for double seating them. Today's story takes place at...drum-roll please...work! So, there I was prepping the restaurant for the day's activities and it was about ten minuets till opening when a family walks in with five little kids. I greet them and lead them to their booth like normal. Then, the five year old boy looks at me and immediately commences to run full speed and dive under a table and latch onto the table stand. Trying to coax her son out, the woman apologetically looks and me and explains that he is going through the "liking girls stage" and every time he sees a pretty girl he gets scared. I started to crack up and she told me I probably shouldn't make eye contact. Man do I love kids! Maybe that's why I find teaching so fascinating.
I actually have had many fascinations recently and since I'm the kind of person to be random I'm going to tell you about them.
1. Firstly, living in such a warm area kind of makes me sad because I love dressing in sweaters and jackets and gloves and the whole winter getup like I could in my hometown. So whenever the temperature drops below 50 I just have to pull out my boots. Heres to you Ugg boots!
Secondly, I love love LOVE to have my picture taken, so whenever I see a model in these fashion blogs or in magazines I get jealous. I have always wanted to be a model and be all glamorous and stuff anyhoo... The current model that I aspire to be is the one and only Taylor Warren. She has the natural simplistic beauty that I certainly envy.

And lastly, I'm fascinated by all my wonderful friends whom I love SO much. I have no idea where I would be without any of them. Thank you guys! I love you all dearly <3

What have you been fascinated by lately?
Sincerely,
Em

Ladies and Gentlemen....Introducing Me, Myself, and I

I'm unique. That is the simplest and more polite way of stating who I am. I'm THAT person, the one who would have her dressed tucked into her underwear whilst crossing a busy street. The one who would run face first into a pole and the one who always has a story to tell.
I have no clue what it is about me, but I tend to attract the most interesting people and wind up in the most awkward of situations. But as I keep telling myself, "A situation is only awkward if you make it awkward." :) Anyhoo, I'm not the typical introduction kind of person, I feel like normal introductions are a little painful and dull so rather than just telling you that my name is Emilie and I'm a freshman blah blah blah I will tell you that I'm not your average blonde school girl. Sure I love makeup and heels as much as the next person, and sure I'm your average poor woman driver who has totaled one car and dented another..oops but I also have my butch side. I absolutely love romping and playing COD and hiking and rock climbing as well as finding the occasional joy of walking around Home Depot in my new leather jacket looking for corrugated sheet metal. But I'm rambling, This blog is all about the stories that happen in a little thing I like to call , "My life."
On a side note, I found this video and it make me chuckle... enjoy <3
Sincerely,
Em
